Here we go again, round two of hurricane stress.  Once again, I hope this finds everyone well and their life returning to normal.  We will continue to adjust to whatever changes lie before us and do the best we can at all time.  As of now, the six week period is not being extended and the five missed days will be forgiven.  This is not an absolute, it is all I know right now.  With that being said, the end of the first six week period is Thursday, September 18th.  Due the best you can calculating grades and if corrections or changes need to occur, you will be allowed to do so during the second six week period.  If have no update on the status of Integrade Pro except that several requests have been made to use it.   

 

MONDAY IS A” B DAY”!

 

Welcome to our Ninth Grade Assistant Principal:  We will have a familiar face join us at Carencro High as the newly appointed assistant principal, Mr. Ken Roebuck.  Mr. Roebuck worked last semester with us as an administrative intern.  Please join me in welcoming Mr. Roebuck to our campus and our family.

 

September Faculty Meeting:  The monthly full hour meeting will be Monday, September 22nd at 2:30 p.m. in the Little Theater. 

 

Open House:  The School Leadership Team (SLT) decided with the end of the first six week period and the Parent Teacher Conference Day scheduled for October 15th that our Meet and Greet Open House be postponed.  It has been suggested that we schedule our open house in November or the Spring.  If you have an opinion or suggestion, speak with a SLT member.

 

Extended Library Hours:  Please announce to students that the library will remain open until 3:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays for students to conduct research, check out books or read.

 

FUND RAISING ACTIVITIES - Notice Regarding Food Sales During School Time:  Teachers/Sponsors/Coaches who are conducting fund raising activities involving edible items are to instruct the students they are not to sell during school time.  Sponsors may distribute items to students during the school day but cannot sell for consumption except during the last ten minutes of each lunch shift.  Sponsors who are in violation of this procedure could face disciplinary action.  This includes concessions, meat sticks, chips, cookies, suckers, and candy related items.

 

Department Chairpeople:  If you have not already done so, please send your monthly meeting dates to Ms. Rath.

 

Dress Code Policy:  Teachers and all staff are to enforce the dress code policy.  During walk-throughs, the enforcement of the dress code policy in your classroom will be noted.

 

Monday, September 15:  “B Day” Regular bell schedule

  1. FFA will be selling meat sticks and Chorus will be selling candy.
  2. AOIT staff will use the Little Theater to teach staff lighting lessons during 8th period.
  3. A staff member from NTA will be present during both lunches in the FACS kitchen to share information and lunch with you.  Please stop by for a visit.
  4. Special education departmental meeting at 2:30 p.m.
  5. “There are great opportunities in high places because, the higher you go, the less competition you will find.”

 

Tuesday, September 16:  “A Day” Regular bell schedule

  1. AOIT staff will use the Little Theater to teach staff lighting lessons during first and second periods.
  2. Selected staff members will be attending Capturing Kids Hearts training.
  3. Art meeting and a PBS meeting at 2:30 p.m.
  4. The library will be open until 3:30 p.m.
  5. Volleyball @ Cecilia – 4:00 p.m.
  6. “Those who have the right kind of character don’t tremble when challenged.”

 

Wednesday, September 17:  “B Day” Regular bell schedule

  1. Seniors whose last name is A – M will place their senior orders during both lunch shifts with Mr. Lane from the Grad Shoppe.
  2. Selected staff members will be attending Capturing Kids Hearts training.
  3. JV/Fr football vs. Comeaux (H) 5:00 p.m. - Castille
  4. “Blaze your own trail – do not wait for others to clear the path for you.”

 

Thursday, September 18:  “A Day” Regular bell schedule – End of the First Six Week Grading Period

  1. Seniors whose last name is N – Z will place their senior orders during both lunch shifts with Mr. Lane from the Grad Shoppe.
  2. Selected staff members will be attending Capturing Kids Hearts training.
  3. Science dept meeting at 2:30 p.m.
  4. The library will be open until 3:30 p.m.
  5. Volleyball vs. Teurlings Catholic (H) 3:00/4:00/5:00 - Sampy
  6. “Failure is temporary, defeat is permanent.”

 

Friday, September 19:  “B Day” Regular bell schedule Students may wear a spirit shirt with uniform bottoms.  Teachers may wear jeans with a spirit shirt. 

  1. Friday night football vs. Catholic High of Baton Rouge in Baton Rouge7:00 p.m.
  2.  “True champions only accept excellence even in the face of failure.”

 

Saturday, September 20: 

  1. Volleyball Tournament at Morgan City - TBA

 

Monday, September 22:  “A Day” Regular bell schedule

  1. Chorus will be selling candy
  2. Faculty meeting in the Little Theater at 2:30 p.m.
  3. AOIT Parent meeting in Little Theater at 6:00 p.m.
